Identify a manager to interview. The manager must have at least five years of supervisory experience, and preferably a college degree. The more experience the manager has, the more valuable the insight you will be able to gather. Choosing a manager who is at least two levels above your own in the organization will add value to the learning experience. The interview should take place in a face-to-face format if possible, but it can also be completed over the telephone. E-mail interviews are allowed but discouraged.
The questions you ask should allow the manager to discuss such topics as the challenges of managing personnel and assigning tasks, the challenges of recruitment, the importance of ongoing professional development and training, and change management as a part of the organizing function.
I will assign approximately four interview questions that you must ask. You will be required to add an additional three questions.
The final paper should be between four and five pages, double-spaced; with a cover page that includes the manager’s name, title, and a brief history of his or her management experience and education. The paper should not simply be a transcription of the interview. Analyze the interview responses given what you are learning in the course.

* What is going not so well?
* What would you want to change or improve upon?
